Rye voters can cast ballots for the Nov. 3 general election starting Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Resurrection Early Childhood Education Center, 88 Milton Road.

The nine-day early voting window runs through Sunday, Nov. 1, according to a MyRye.com report by publisher Jay Sears. Any registered voter in Westchester County can participate, and voters are not limited to the Rye site. The county has designated 25 early voting centers across Westchester, and residents may use any of them.

Hours at the Rye location shift daily:

  • Saturday, Oct. 24: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 25: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 26: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 27: noon to 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 28: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 29: noon to 8 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 30: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 31: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 1: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Two other early voting sites sit close to Rye: St. Gregory The Great Church, 215 Halstead Ave. in Harrison, and the Rye Brook Firehouse, 940 King St. in Rye Brook. Any Westchester voter can use any of the 25 locations.

The process works the same as on Election Day, according to the Rye Town government's early voting page. Voters check in, receive their ballot and vote. Instructions and a voter bill of rights will be posted at each center, and election inspectors can assist anyone who needs help.

One rule to remember: voters who cast a ballot during the early voting period are not eligible to vote again on Election Day, Nov. 3.

Registered voters who prefer to vote by mail can still apply for an early mail ballot. Absentee ballots remain available for voters who qualify under state law.

Early voting results will be canvassed and reported after 9 p.m. on Election Day. One change from prior elections: St. Ann's School in Ossining has replaced the Joseph G. Caputo Community Center as a polling site this year.
