Custom framing chain Framebridge opened its doors in Rye on Sept. 12, adding a second Westchester County storefront to a downtown already gearing up for a six-week art exhibition.
The Rye store follows the company's Bronxville shop at 85 Pondfield Rd., Westchester Magazine reported Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Framebridge, which started as an online framing service, now operates brick-and-mortar locations across several states.
No appointment is needed.
Customers can walk in, drop off artwork or personal items and choose from the store's frame styles and mats. The company confirmed the opening on its Instagram account on Saturday, Sept. 12, writing that its doors were officially open.
The timing puts a new framing shop in the middle of downtown Rye just as the Rye Arts Center's "Art for Purchase" exhibition launches. That show runs from Thursday, Sept. 17 through Thursday, Oct. 29, turning storefronts across downtown into gallery spaces featuring work by 26 local and regional artists, the River Journal reported.
Shops, cafés and restaurants will display pieces that visitors can buy. The Rye Arts Center has also planned panels, guided tours and family-friendly "color hunts" during the exhibition's run.
The Art for Purchase opening celebration, featuring live music on the Village Green, is set for Thursday, Sept. 17. Framebridge's Rye store page is live at framebridge.com/pages/rye.
