Harrison police officers arrested a man on an active Hoboken warrant Wednesday, July 8, and found suspected cocaine hidden inside a cigarette pack during the process.

Officer Anthony Cecere, assisted by Officer Connor McClelland, took Nuno Miguel into custody at 6:44 p.m. on the outstanding warrant, which carried $3,500 bail with a 10 percent cash option, according to the Town of Harrison's police blotter. During the arrest, officers recovered the suspected cocaine concealed in a cigarette pack.

Miguel was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in addition to the warrant arrest. He was processed and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.

The arrest was one of at least seven warrant arrests Harrison police logged across July 8 and July 9, according to the department's blotter. Earlier that same day, at 2:19 a.m., Cecere accepted custody of another individual from the Kearny Police Department on a separate Harrison warrant with $600 full cash bail. That person was also transported to Hudson County Correctional after being unable to post bail.

The department has not disclosed how the evening warrant stop was initiated or where in Harrison it occurred.

No court date has been announced for Miguel's controlled-substance charge.
