A 200-unit luxury apartment building has opened on a 10-acre site in Harrison's Purchase neighborhood, with half the land set aside as public open space.
One Webb Ave, at 1 Webb Avenue, held its grand opening Sept. 30 and is now leasing studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom residences, according to a press release from NRP Group, the developer. NRP Group built the project in partnership with RPW Group, a Westchester-based commercial developer.
The five-story building includes 30 studios, 75 one-bedrooms, 11 one-bedrooms with dens and 84 two-bedrooms.
Ten of the 200 apartments are reserved for residents earning 80% of the area median income.
Five of the site's 10 acres have been preserved as open space. That includes an outdoor walking trail system open to the public, a dog park and a community garden run by Our New Way Garden, a West Harrison nonprofit.
"As Harrison continues to grow, we want that growth to make our community stronger," Harrison Mayor Tom Scappaticci said in the Oct. 2 press release. He said the project adds housing while preserving the open space residents value.
The grand opening drew Scappaticci along with Bridget Gibbons, director of economic development for Westchester County; Michael Romita, president and CEO of the Westchester County Association; RPW Group CEO Robert Weisz and President Andrew Weisz; and NRP Group executives Jonathan Gertman and J. David Heller.
Westchester County Executive Kenneth W. Jenkins said in the press release that the project represents "an important step forward" in ensuring county families have access to housing.
The building is LEED Silver certified, a green-building standard, and was designed by Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners. Amenities include a fitness center, heated pool, shared workspace, children's playroom and two landscaped courtyards. Residents will have shuttle service to the Rye Metro-North station.
Leasing is underway, with unit details available at onewebbave.com.
