Playland Park in Rye will close out its summer fireworks season with three displays over Labor Day weekend, all starting at 9 p.m.

The shows are set for Friday, Sept. 4, Saturday, Sept. 5 and Monday, Sept. 7, according to a Westchester County press release issued Thursday, Sept. 3. Friday fireworks ran weekly through the summer, MyRye.com reported in July. The Labor Day weekend schedule includes Saturday and Monday displays as well.

Families arriving early on Friday will get a bonus. Broadway Sings takes the Playland stage at 7 p.m., two hours before the fireworks. The county describes the act as featuring "today's biggest pop hits from Broadway stars." No individual performer names have been announced.

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins called the displays "our final fireworks displays of the season" and urged residents to take advantage of the long weekend.

"There is something truly special about ending a day at Playland with family and friends watching the sky light up over Long Island Sound," Jenkins said in the county's statement.

Westchester County Parks Acting Commissioner William Bland said the fireworks bring strong energy to the park and called the shows impressive from start to finish.

Admission to the park is free. Ride wristbands cost $15 for Westchester County residents and $25 for visitors from outside the county. Parking is $15 per car.

The park will be open noon to 10 p.m. each day from Friday, Sept. 4 through Monday, Sept. 7.

The beach and pool will also be open during the holiday weekend, from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Last entry is 6 p.m. Both are weather permitting.

Playland Park is at 1 Playland Parkway in Rye.

After Labor Day, the park will reopen Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 13, from noon to 7 p.m.
