Rye Playland is offering end-of-season ride wristbands at $15 for Westchester County residents through the end of the 2026 season, a $12 cut from the standard $27 Big Park Ride Band.

Non-residents pay $25, down from the regular $32.

The deal comes as the park heads into its final weeks with 34 of 39 rides spinning. Five adult-section rides remain closed as of Thursday, Aug. 20: Derby Racer, Gondola Wheel, Jack the Puppeteer, Playland Yo-Yo and The Whip.

Smaller park, new additions

Playland's active ride count dropped from 40 to 39 this season after Westchester County Parks officials confirmed Aug. 6 that the Himalaya ride in Kiddyland and the Sky Flyer in the main park were permanently removed.

In all, 12 rides have been decommissioned since 2019, according to the county parks department.

The park did add one new attraction this month. Scorpios, a 42-seat pirate-ship swing manufactured by Germany's Metallbau Emmeln, opened Aug. 13. Riders must be 50 inches tall to ride alone; those between 43 and 49 inches need a companion age 14 or older.

"The opening of Scorpios is another exciting step in Playland Park's continued comeback," County Executive Ken Jenkins said Aug. 10, when the county announced the new ride.

What to know before you go

Spectator admission remains free. Parking is $15 on weekdays and weekends, $20 on holidays. The Kiddyland Ride Band for children under 48 inches remains $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents. Children 2 and under ride free with a paying guardian.

Playland Beach and Pool are open daily through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7, from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., weather permitting. Friday night fireworks continue at 9 p.m. through the end of the season, according to a Westchester County press release.
