Playland Park's summer fireworks series ends Friday, Sept. 4, with the final show lighting up the sky over Long Island Sound at 9 p.m.

The free fireworks display caps a season of Friday night shows that ran through the summer. Spectators can watch without paying admission. Ride wristbands cost $15 for Westchester County residents and $25 for non-residents, with parking at $15 per car, according to the Westchester County Parks weekly events release.

Playland Pool and Playland Beach close for the season on Monday, Sept. 7, Labor Day. Both are open daily from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. through that date, weather permitting. Last entry is 6 p.m. Unlike other Westchester County pools, Playland Pool does not require county residency for admission.

The amusement park itself is open Wednesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., through Sept. 6. Riders can hit the Dragon Coaster, Kiddyland attractions and the park's newest addition, Scorpios. The $15 resident wristband is a discounted end-of-season price, down from the standard $27, MyRye.com reported.

Five of Playland's 39 rides were closed as of Thursday, Aug. 27: Derby Racer, Gondola Wheel, Jack the Puppeteer, Playland Yo-Yo and The Whip.
