Playland Park's rides reopen Wednesday, July 29, and run through Sunday, August 2, giving Rye-area families five days of amusement rides, pool time, and a fireworks show to close out July.

One heads-up: a flood advisory for the area expires at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 30, and heavy rain Wednesday night could affect beach and pool conditions early in the week. Both are open weather permitting, so check before you go.

Hours and prices

The amusement park is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, according to Westchester County Parks. Admission to the grounds is free for spectators.

Ride bands for Westchester County residents cost $20 per person for Kiddyland and $27 for the Big Park. Non-residents pay $25 and $32, respectively. Parking is $15 per car.

The pool and beach are open daily from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with no admittance after 6 p.m. Both run through Monday, September 7. Unlike other county pools, Playland Pool does not require Westchester County residency for admission.

Friday Night Fireworks

The county lists the next fireworks show for Saturday, August 1, at 9 p.m. The Friday Night Fireworks series continues every Friday through September 4, with five more shows remaining after this week: August 7, 14, 21, 28, and September 4.

The bigger picture

This is the county's first full summer running Playland directly, following a bumpy 2025 season. County Executive Ken Jenkins attended the May 23 grand opening, where roughly 90% of Kiddyland rides and 80% of adult rides were operational and the Dragon Coaster returned, according to MyRye.

Meanwhile, the county has budgeted $6.785 million in bond proceeds for the next phase of Ice Casino improvements, according to the 2026 adopted capital budget. A broader rehabilitation of the rink facility carries a bid estimate of $44 million to $50 million and includes new ice rinks, cooling equipment, a rebuilt façade, and a new roof.
