Drivers picking up students at Bruno M. Ponterio (BMP) Ridge Street School in Rye Brook can no longer turn left on North Ridge Street during afternoon dismissal.
The Village of Rye Brook and the Blind Brook School District announced the new restriction on the village's website on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
The "No Left Turns" rule applies Monday through Friday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on school days.
The two agencies said they worked together to improve traffic flow on North Ridge Street during pickup.
The village is directing parents along what it calls Route A: a left turn onto Rockinghorse Trail, then onto Dorchester Drive and out to Sleepy Hollow Road. A YouTube video posted by the village walks drivers through the route.
The village did not specify whether additional alternate routes exist or how the restriction will be enforced.
