Rye High School fields six athletic events across four sports the week of Aug. 31 through Sept. 6 as the Garnets launch their fall season.

Girls varsity volleyball and soccer play Aug. 31. Volleyball starts at 9 a.m., and soccer follows at 4:15 p.m. with multiple teams in action, according to the school's athletic schedule. Opponents for both Monday contests have not been announced.

Field hockey arrives Thursday, Sept. 3. The schedule lists a 5 p.m. field hockey event and a 6:30 p.m. contest against Clarkstown District. Whether the two entries represent separate JV and varsity games or a single matchup is not specified.

Saturday, Sept. 5, brings two more matchups. Boys JV football travels to Cornwall Central High School for an 11 a.m. kickoff. A soccer contest follows at 1:45 p.m.

The JV football opener comes as the Garnets' varsity program reloads after a state championship season.

Senior Charlie Brady has taken over at quarterback, with only three offensive starters returning after heavy graduation losses.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday have no events listed. Full game times and opponents are posted on the Rye athletics website.
