Drew Dellasalla, a 20-year-old forward from Rye, will skate for the College of the Holy Cross men's ice hockey team this fall after the program officially named him to its 2026-27 roster on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

He'll wear No. 11.

Holy Cross head coach Bill Riga announced the incoming class, which includes Dellasalla as part of a group of freshmen and transfers joining the NCAA Division I program in the Atlantic Hockey Association.

Dellasalla's path to Worcester ran through elite junior hockey. After starring at Brunswick School in Greenwich, Connecticut, where he posted 44 points (13 goals, 31 assists) in 31 games as a senior in 2022-23, he entered the USHL. He was selected in the 2022 USHL Futures Draft by the Youngstown Phantoms, traded to the Omaha Lancers in October 2023, then acquired by the Lincoln Stars in November 2024 for a seventh-round pick.

By the time he committed to Holy Cross on Feb. 2, Dellasalla had logged 137 career USHL games with 47 points (14 goals, 33 assists). He recorded two goals and eight assists in 33 games for Lincoln during the 2025-26 season.

"Drew does a lot of things really well," Lincoln Stars head coach Rocky Russo said in February when the commitment was announced. "He can play either way, he kills penalties, he can generate offense, he's got good feet. So he's the type of player that you can use a lot in different situations, and coaches find that valuable."

The 6-foot, 183-pound left-shot forward originally committed to Harvard in September 2022 before flipping to Holy Cross. Russo called the Crusaders a natural fit and said the move gives Dellasalla a chance at a significant role immediately alongside a top-tier education.

Dellasalla graduated from Brunswick School in 2024.

The private prep program in Greenwich has sent players to Harvard, Michigan, Notre Dame and Yale. His hometown is listed as Rye on multiple scouting databases, though his prep career was at Brunswick rather than Rye High School.

Holy Cross competes in the Atlantic Hockey Association. The Crusaders' 2026-27 season schedule has not yet been published.
