Rye and Rye Brook families looking for a weeknight summer outing have two more chances to learn salsa at Cross County Center in Yonkers, with sessions on Monday, July 13, and Monday, July 27, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Ballet Folklorico de las Americas, a Connecticut-based dance company, leads each hour-long class on the Green at Cross County Center, 8000 Mall Walk, Yonkers, NY 10704. The format breaks down to 45 minutes of guided salsa instruction followed by a 15-minute live performance by the company's dancers.

No partner required.

The classes are billed as beginner-friendly. Cross County Center noted on Facebook that guided instruction at the start of each session makes it accessible for newcomers and experienced dancers alike.

The four-session series launched Monday, June 15, and has run every other Monday since. Monday, July 13, and Monday, July 27, are the third and fourth installments, wrapping up the 2026 summer run.

The event was promoted to local families through the Rye & Rye Brook Moms community calendar and also appeared on the Scarsdale Moms network, signaling the center's outreach across southern Westchester.

The salsa nights are one of three weekly dance offerings in Cross County Center's Summer Fest series. The full schedule:
