Playland Amusement Park runs on a Wednesday-through-Sunday schedule the week of August 3–9, giving Rye-area families five days of rides, a Friday fireworks show, and daily pool and beach access through Labor Day.

The Westchester County Parks weekly schedule, published Thursday, July 30, confirms the park's hours and pricing for the week.

Rides: Wednesday through Sunday

Gates open at 11 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Spectators enter free. Ride wristbands break down as follows:

  • Kiddyland Ride Band (riders under 48 inches): $20 for Westchester residents, $25 non-residents
  • Big Park Ride Band: $27 for Westchester residents, $32 non-residents
  • Parking: $15 per car

Children 2 and under ride free with a paying guardian. Season passes ($85 residents, $100 non-residents) are sold online only and do not cover parking, pool, or beach.

As we reported July 30, 34 of the park's 40 rides were operating last week, including the Dragon Coaster and Grand Carousel.

Friday Night Fireworks: August 7 at 9 p.m.

Fireworks launch from the Playland pier at 9 p.m. Friday, August 7, and continue every Friday through September 4. Viewers can watch from inside the park, the boardwalk along Playland Beach, or Rye Town Park.

On July 10, when the county announced the rescheduled fireworks show, Westchester County Parks Acting Commissioner Peter Tartaglia called the Friday series "a classic summer evening and a spectacular fireworks display honoring America's 250th anniversary."

Pool and beach: open daily

Playland Pool and Playland Beach are open daily, 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., through Monday, September 7 (Labor Day). No admittance after 6 p.m. All hours are weather permitting. Westchester County residency is not required for the pool; parking and admission fees apply for the beach.
